Intermediate Oriental Technique
The true essence of Middle Eastern dance is reached when an accomplished dancer of the Orient has total control over every muscle, both large and small, in her body, and uses this ability to interpret all the nuisances of Middle Eastern music.
In this class, students will be challenged with complicated combinations and drills that will dramatically improve their oriental or ‘cabaret’ technique. In addition, students will also be exposed to the history and music that characterizes Raqs al Sharqi, or Oriental Dance. Each class will include warm-ups and conditioning, drilling, and combinations that can be added to your own choreographies. Students should bring zills to class for warm-ups.

Intermediate Oriental Choreography
The true essence of Middle Eastern dance is reached when an accomplished dancer of the Orient has total control over every muscle, both large and small, in her body, and uses this ability to interpret all the nuisances of Middle Eastern music.
Wala Wahed, translates to ‘Not Even One’ and is by Egyptian singer, Hakim. The choreography taught in this class is a classical oriental piece inspired by Morocco of New York. The combinations taught in this class are independent of the Intermediate Oriental Technique class, achieving optimal learning of the Oriental style through technique, drills, and choreography. Zills are required for the course as the choreography includes zill accompaniment.

Shaskin is an Intermediate/Advanced Level Tribal Fusion Choreography.
Students should have mastered basic bellydance movements and should also have a basic understanding of the tribal fusion movements and posture:
This choreography requires a lot of flexibility as it incorporates floorwork. Students must also be able to execute most of these movements on various level changes. (demi-plie ; plie releve; releve; demi releve )
Due to the demanding nature of this choreography we will spend approximately 30 minutes of each class in warm up and stretch
Beginning “The Building Blocks” 7:00 - 8:00 PM
In this class, students will be introduced to the building blocks of belly dance. The topics in this class are what I consider to be the most important for any beginning student to know, and what I consider any intermediate and above dancer to strive to perfect. No matter the style, the basics are the basics. As an artist, dancers must have a strong grasp on these building blocks to create your own artistic voice. This class will help you grow as a dancer, no matter your style. Each class will explore a specific concept integral to your foundation as a dancer. Drop-ins are welcome, but the committed dancer will come out of this class as a new woman!
